What do you enjoy about the work you do? The thing I like most about the work I do is helping young people find their way in life. I mean that in a very broad sense, which includes helping students figure out how to pass a class or survive a semester, and being part of a conversation about bigger life goals.

What are your hobbies? I love reading. It’s my favorite hobby. I am also a passionate fan of Liverpool FC, the greatest football (i.e. soccer) club in the world, in my completely unbiased opinion.

Bio:

I was born in Denmark and grew up in a very small town/rural environment. After high school, I left for the capital to study at the University Copenhagen (in Danish: Københavns Universitet, or KU!), where I earned my B.A. and Cand. Mag. (Candidatus Magisterii, the Danish equivalent of an M.A.) in Danish and history, and later my teacher education in teaching Danish as a second language to immigrants. I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Social and Cultural Studies in Education. I have been at KU since 2012 and while working as an academic advisor in the Undergraduate Advising Center, I was named as a UAC Outstanding Advisor and a KU Academic Advisor of The Year. I have been with TRIO as a Student Success Specialist since July 2019.
