Bio:

My name is Gretchen and I currently serve as the Director of TRIO SES & STEM. I began my TRIO career as an advisor in 1999 and am honored to serve as the director 20 years later. I graduated with undergraduate degrees in English and social work and a master’s degree in social work from KU. I am currently a doctoral student in the Higher Education Leadership Program at Baker University.

While at KU, I have participated in leadership and services roles including The Hixson Scholars Council, The Collaborative, Staff Senate, and Staff Fellows. My most notable career achievements include KU Academic Advisor of the Year awards in 2003 and 2018 and student nominations for a People’s Choice Award and Citation for Leadership in Student Services. Working with students is the joy of my career. My office is located on the “garden level” of Strong Hall; stop by Room 7 to say “hi”!
