Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society, Beta Beta Chapter (XAE)
Founded at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, Chi Alpha Epsilon (XAE) was organized in 1990 to acknowledge the continuing successes of students in the university's Academic Development Program. Chi Alpha Epsilon was formed to recognize the academic achievements of students admitted to colleges and universities through nontraditional criteria who utilize developmental education support service. The Beta Beta Chapter was established at KU in 2011.
Chi Alpha Epsilon serves TRIO SES & STEM students, McNair Scholars, and Educational Opportunity Program students. Its purposes are to promote continued high academic standards, to foster increased communication among its members, and to honor academic excellence achieved by those students.
Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society is open to all participants who earn a 3.0 GPA or higher for two consecutive semesters of full-time enrollment, or three or more semesters of less than full-time enrollment.
Eligible students will receive a letter of invitation from TRIO at the beginning of each spring semester, at which time they can decide whether or not to join.
Members of XAE pledge to continue to excel academically, promote academic excellence in others and help those who genuinely aspire to the same goal.
The Beta Beta Chapter is a registered student organization with the Student Involvement and Leadership Center (SILC) at KU.
